Underestimated, Overly Thrilled!

Okay, when I had this sessions last week, I knew we got great stuff, I just didn't know how great. As I mentioned in a earlier post, This in the fifth baby boy I have done in the past 6 months, and it has to be one of my favorites. Little H's hair is to die for. F family, you are always so great to photograph. I am so glad that I have the opportunity to know such great people. Newborn sessions are always the longest, and the baby really hung in there. I can't wait to see as he gets older if he has the same beautiful curls as his sister. M, you know I am completely jealous! Congratulations F 's! H is absolutely delightful!

HAPPY EASTER!

I had a photographer friend tell me how she has started combining her personal blog, along with her professional blog, and I thought it was a great idea! (Thanks K. Check out her website at www.kdportraits.com )

We had the best Easter weekend. When we went to my mom's house on Saturday she had surprised the kids by having chicks, ducks, and a bunny! What a blast. The kids loved holding them and feeding them. It was such a treat, and brought in the best Easter feelings ever. Thank you Mom for doing something so memorable! Plus all six of her grandchildren have matching Easter outfits. She really went all out, and they all look adorable.

The Easter Bunny brought an extra special treat for my kids! When my brother-in-law saw the kids in their shirts, he said that he was feeling a lot of love in the room. I think it was more than the shirts, but I don't think I could say enough how much I love them! Another photographer friend's of mine mother(I have surrounded myself with extraordinary talented people, thanks for all support and inspiration A, it means everything) makes these wonderful "peaces" of art. They are called Peacefulones, and their quality is incredible. I highly recommend checking this sight out so that maybe we all can start "raising a generation of peace." Thank you again M, I could not have been more thrilled! www.englishphoto.typepad.com/peacefulones/

Happy Easter Everyone! Make sure to go out and enjoy the weather while it lasts!

Almost Caught Up...Almost

It seems as soon as I feel I am getting caught up on all my work a million things get in the way, and unfortunately, my blog ends up being the last thing updated. I am thrilled about some of the sittings I have had lately. It seems as though this is the year for boys, because in some of the families I photograph I have had four new baby boys within the last 6 months. (Plus my own makes it 5.) So, there have been a lot of pictures of new baby boys. The thing that I am thrilled about this is how much this has pushed me. I have really wanted each baby sitting to be its own, and have its own uniqueness to it. I am so thrilled about how this turned out. We had started the sitting with baby A all dressed, but as we went through the session I convinced A's mom how much more enduring it would look if we had him undressed. I love how warm and fuzzy these pictures turned out. The connection between Mom and baby is priceless and I am so glad I got to be apart of that moment. (J wasn't planning on being in any pictures that day.) Thank you again A family for letting me be apart of your lives!

New Baby

I realize that I posted our Valentine Cards before showing our new baby's birth pictures, so even though it is a little late, these are the pictures from when Garrett was one week old. I had such a good time with these pictures. I think it was because it was the third time around, and Adam was thrilled because he did not get peed on, but this sitting went far better than the other two did. I have heard mixed reviews on who our little G looks like, but most people will say Emilee. I thought I would also post Emilee and Mackey's, so you can decide. Either way, I have come to realize that we have cookie cutter kids. Although this time we are thinking that Garrett could have Adam's coloring. Wouldn't that be nice!

Baby Legs & Heirlooms

Baby J is one of the cutest "trendy" babies I know. My favorite things for his blessing outfit was how his mom incorporated both the old and new. By old, I mean that J wore his Dad's blessing outfit. Since his Dad was a summer baby his outfit had been just the bloomers, but it was so fun to see how they made his outfit warm, and adorable at the same time. It completely changed my mind on baby legs, and gave me a new respect for all things trendy. So in light of trendy things I thought I would have a trendy baby photo contest. The session times will be posted for the first part of April and the best part is there will be no session fee! The winner of contest will receive a picture gift, so don't miss out on this opportunity. If you would like more details, and to book a time contact me at cookie_heather@hotmail.com.

Happy Valentine's Day

I can't seem to figure out how to make these pictures the same, but picture a folded bookmark. I am still learning the blog thing, and I can't seem to get my pictures to display just right.

It is never too late to tell people you love them. I had been asked by another photographer if I was going to do personalized Valentine cards for my children to give out this year. I was embarrassed that the idea had not even occurred to me, but once the idea was there, there was no going back. I had so much fun creating these cards. I hope to have a special event next year so everyone can do specialized cards for their kids. The way the cards work was a folded bookmark, and I guarantee if the kids at school don't keep them, that Grandmas and Grandpas will have one in every book.

I may be pushing it, but I think I may enjoy getting a Valentine Card more than a Christmas Card, but that could just be because it is something new.

My mom also leaped at the chance to show off her new Grandchildren. It was so fun to have her hold the three newest cousins! Nothing can be better than having your grandchildren double within 3 months! You can definitely feel all the love!

I hope everyone had a Happy Valentine's Day!

Shaken...Not Stirred

Bond, James Bond.

Is there anything cuter than little boys in Tuxes? After we did S in his tux we photographed him with his little brother in his, and their little tuxes were sure fun to see. I was so impressed with baby M's mom because she made his little blessing outfit. It was so sweet, and he looks so sweet in it! Besides little M's blessing pictures, I also have taken pictures of 3 other little boys blessings outfits. As I mentioned, we welcomed our own son into our lives the 9th of January, and I had several sittings from Christmas til now that I have not updated, so bear with while I catch everyone up on all the fun sittings I have had the last eight weeks.

I'm Back!

This is my very belated Christmas Card. I apologize to all of you who have been waiting for a blog update. Recently we gave birth to our third son, and it took me away from updating everyone else, but now everyone can rest assured that I am back, and thrilled about this coming year and all the clients I have the privilege of photographing. So, even if it is belated, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year... My Valentine pics are also coming so keep looking for those!

White Out

One of my favorites things during the Christmas season is snow. When I was a little girl I would love to watch the snow falling, as we would drive home on Christmas Eve from my Grandmas' house. I still love that peaceful feeling as we drive and can see snowflakes falling in the street lights. When my sister asked for me to do her pictures I could tell I was in a "White Christmas" Mood. I was thrilled to be able to use my new white background! I love the mood this creates for both pictures, and it helps to have such a beautiful person in the pictures! Thanks A for being such a sport, even with all my crazy instructions!

As we approach closer to Christmas, I am grateful that this was my last session before the holiday. We are not only looking forward to Santa coming at our house, but for the birth of our third child. The last blog of the holiday will be our Christmas Card, so look for that in a couple of days! I hope that everyone has a safe and wonderful Holiday!

Wishes Coming True

As I wrote the title of this blog, I thought about how cheesy it sounds, and that I should have singing mice prancing about, but really the wish that came true was mine. For so long I have wanted to do a family session down at this location, I just have not had the opportunity. When T called and asked me to do her family session I knew that I had the perfect family for the location. This family has such a posh look about them, I knew the cold mountains would not do them justice. It was such a joy to do their family picture. I had to include the picture of the parents, because I love seeing how in love they are! Thanks T & T for letting me have so much fun...even if I did make T do a little too much "pole dancing"!
