Results for International Photographic Competition

The results are in! I am so thrilled that I have two of my prints that were honored with merits. Wahoo! This puts me two steps closer to my Masters, and it is wonderful to see the path it is going on. I really have to send a big thank you to all my supporters. Thanks for always believing in me and for all the inspiration to help continue on this journey. Congrats to all my fellow photographers who did so well. I am honored to be one of you!

January Wedding 2012

I love the summer months. I love being out with my kids in the fresh air. We are all adjusting to the heat of St. George (we have seen a couple of days where it hit 113 degrees) but we love the simplicity of life, and the chance to grow closer as a family.

When I did this wedding in January, one of the things I loved about it was the simplicity. The couple was very charming, and I loved the intimacy of the day. The just had their family watch them get married, enjoyed cake, food, and conversation all together. Thank you P family for the opportunity to be apart of something so unique. I hope you have as good of a time viewing the images as I did capturing them!

I loved this shot, because before the wedding they gave their son a present, and Daddy's pocket was the perfect safe keeping spot. We never lost track of the transformer guy!

Family Portraits

Each year that I do the A family, I find myself go through the same emotions. For one, I worry a little each time that I wont get something different. But the magic always seems to happen. Each time I have the pleasure of taking this family's portraits, I feel like I am taking them for the first time. I think I would compare it to re-reading your favorite book. It is always your favorite, but usually you pull something new out of it. A family, thank you for being one of my favorite books! I really could photograph you all over and over again. Thank you for always dressing to impress, and being a delight to be with every time!

So when I think of my favorite books, I have a list that I can always come back to, and I love how it keeps growing. When I was a little girl one of my favorites was "The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle" I think I read it 3 times in one summer. I would love to expand my reading list, so if anyone wants to share their favorites, I would love to add them! I hope everyone has a great summer! Also I will be in Salt Lake the first week of June, if anyone would like to schedule some family portraits!

Moving Day

So the day we moved our family down to sunny St. George, was also the day the Blue Angels were in town. We thought it would be something we will always remember about our moving day, and bought tickets as soon as we found out they were here! For those who were also there, they will remember there was a HUGE wind storm after the blue angels landed. Red dust was flying everywhere, and it was quite the adventure finding our car. In fact some of our party did get lost in the sea of cars. It was amazing, and something I am so grateful I was able to capture. I have my camera with at most of these big advents, but to be completely honest, sometimes it doesn't make it out of car. I never know how the event is going to go, and how much of a mom I have to be. I am so glad my kids are getting older, and becoming more responsible, and that my husband is awesome enough to go back into the ocean of cars to get my camera, but I believe it was well worth it.

It has been a great adventure for us to move, and we are currently enjoying our first day of summer tomorrow! It is going to be busy and fun, and it all starts now! Congrats to my kids for finishing a great school year. I am so proud of all three of them, and all they have accomplished!

Baby Boy

Sometimes things fall in to place and work out so perfectly. This was one of those sessions. First off, Great job to M for having these done just a couple weeks after he was born. It makes a huge difference and I know it is a lot of hard work for mom, especially when this is baby number 3. It takes a lot of preparation, at a time when you are just exhausted, but the final product was delightful. There is something so perfect about new babies. They bring such a calm into a moments of chaos, (which can be caused by them to:))and I love being apart of these new beginnings. Congratulations F family!

A man of all Talents

This is one of those sessions where you get to do a little bit of everything, and A was the perfect model to do such. One of the things that is so much fun about senior sessions, is showing off everything you have accomplished in 18 years, and then really knowing that you can go on from high school to succeed with great things! A is just one of those people, and some of the shots we got, well girls eat your heart out, he is quite the cutie! As always C family, thanks for being some of the greatest clients I could ever ask for. It is always my pleasure to be around all of you!

Making some Windy Memories

What a windy blustery wonderful bubbly day this was. I have to say, I am very partial to the kids in this session, and they make me happy all the time, espcially three of them. I love watching them grow up, and closeness that they have as cousins. I know their "Nana" is pretty proud, and this will make a beautiful portrait for her enjoy for years to come. Congrats S on your beautiful family, and I honored to be apart of it! I love you all so much :)

My Favorite Things

I love being apart of processes. One of the things I really enjoy about weddings is when I do the engagements and bridals as well. Not only is it a lot of fun to get to know the couple, but watching how they go through this process is very rewarding. This groom was no different then any others in the fact that he didn't really want to be there for his engagement pictures, but would do anything for his bride. Then we did the bridal portraits, and he was a trooper to come along, and be an "accessory" to her. On the day of the wedding, he was prince charming. He was protective, supportive, and enamored by his new wife. I loved this couple from day one, and by the end (or the beginning, depending on how you look at it) I was just honored to have been apart of their amazing day. B&S, thank you. You are both wonderful people, great examples to me, and dear friends.

On a personal note, we have relocated to St. George UT. Everyone has settled in nicely, and we are loving the adjustment to a warmer climate. If you are wanting summer family portraits please contact me so I can arrange a time for your family session! Thank you!

Baby time

Babies are such wonderful treats to photograph. So much time goes into changing their clothes, getting them to sleep, and one of the sweetest things about this baby was how thrilled mom and dad were to have her in their lives. I loved the fatherly pride that J has, and her little black dress was picked out by him, so adorable! B it has been a pleasure getting to know you, and I am even more excited for you with your new little girl, she is everything a baby should be! Congratulations to you both!

Happy Valentines Day

I can't think of anything better than showing off this couples wedding pictures on Valentine's Day. This couple was such a joy to work with, and the relationship blossomed from photographer/client, to a really dear friendship. It is things like this that make me love what I do. I love people and getting to know them and having these lasting friendship is the greatest perk of my job. D and A, thank you a hundred times over for such a memorable day!

Also I have to thank my second photographer. She was dependable and wonderful and the day was extra fantastic because she was there. Also this is one of her images that she should be extra proud of! Thanks Ash!
