Fall Family

Every once in a while a cute mom comes along and says I just don't think my kids are going to cooperate, and then we get images like these! This was an awesome family session, and we got adorable pictures of the children. It was a lot of fun to take A's family pictures, and I know it was hectic, but I LOVE how everything turned out. No worries J, your kids did great. I hope you have a great time in Disneyland!

I love doing families with small children, because you always get the unexpected. Each of these children were so sweet throughout the whole session. I have a lot of M laughing, and those are the moments I love to photograph. This family is so wonderful, and getting to you A throughout the past year has been an honor! Thanks for being so patient with me.

Please remember if you are wanting to have portraits done in time for Christmas Cards the deadline for your order is

Nature's Symphony

Every once in awhile you come across someone who takes you a little bit by surprise. When I took E's pictures (a month ago, sorry to be so far behind)I was floored by the beautiful women she has become. I had always known her to be sweet and happy, but she has every quality that I wish I could emulate. She is beautiful, but also incredibly humble, and talented. I don't think I could say enough about her. Thank you E, for honoring me by having me take your Senior portraits. I had such an amazing time. They turned out to be nothing short of art pieces. C Family, your daughter is someone to be proud of, but I am positive you already know that! Thank you again.

For everyone else waiting for their pictures, my goal is to be all caught up in the next week and half, which also means I will be taking orders after my original due date. Now anything being ordered for Christmas needs to be ordered by:

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 4TH

Thank you to all for your patience! Please call me with any concerns!

Happy Halloween

I had to post everyones Halloween costumes. This year I didn't have enough time to make my kids costumes, granted, I could not have made it for my little Transformer, but the holiday was so fun. Next year I would like to put on a special for all Trick-or-Treaters, so everyone can send out cards of their cute kids costumes. I know how much effort goes into these costumes, and I know it would be fun to have them remebered in a special way!
I hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween!

Intermountaim PPA Convention and Competition

This last weekend I went to the annual IPPA convention and competition. I was so overloaded with fantastic information, and I am looking forward to evolving Cook Photography so that not only I am evolving as a photographer, but business will go more smoothly.
The other thing I was so thrilled about was I entered 4 prints into the competittion for the first time. The prints are judged, and given scores, and three of my prints did very well, where I had my last one merit, which is what you want them to do. As I earn more merits, I become closer to earning my masters of photography. On the last day of the convention there was an awards banquet and my print "Spiral of Thoughts" (which is the one that merited) won two third place prizes. I was very proud of myself, and I am excited to enter every year so that I can continue to learn and push myself to be a better photographer. Also I want to say thanks to all those who supported me through the month of October. I couldn't have done it without any of you! Thank you Thank you Thank you!

Beginning of a new season

As I was getting ready to make this post I was thinking about how I had taken this session as the leaves started changing A MONTH AGO! I can't believe it has been that long since I have posted. The fall leaves have been beautiful this year, and it has been one of my favorite seasons for family pictures. Since the last thing I posted was a little bit ago, please, please be patient with me. I promise I am burning the candle at both ends in order to get everything done, and I will get through every one's pictures just as fast as I can! The good news is as I have been going through all the sessions, and I have to say everything looks amazing, and I can't wait to show everyone their sneak peeks!

With all of that said I can't say enough about this wonderful fam! They are so wonderfully supportive, and such great friends, we are so grateful to have the S family apart of our lives! J, I think everything came together so perfectly. I love the outfits, and the emotions. Sometimes I find the best family pictures come after everyone lets go and has a silly moment! J is also a photographer, and I am so honored that she would trust me with her family pictures! Thank you so much S family!

I Spy With My Little Eye...

Lately my kids and I cannot get enough of the "I Spy" books. We will be driving in the car and they always want to play "I spy with my little eye something..." (Mac always wants me to say my big eye I because I am not a little kid) I am especially fond of the Walter Wick, "Can you see what I see" books, and I am sure E, M, and G will get a nice collection for Christmas. (Okay so they are more for me, but I love them) So for my kid's sake I thought I would make a game out of this blog.

I spy with my BIG eye the great state of Texas...Can you find it too?

Thank you so much T&T! I had such a AMAZING time taking these pictures. I could not decide which ones to post, I loved them all, and you both look so fantastic. Thank you for having me do your pics! I can't wait for the wedding!

An Engaging Evening

What a delightful evening I had a couple weeks ago with this couple. It is so much fun for me to get to be a part of people's weddings. I do think it is really nice when I get to know the couple throughout the engagements and bridals. When the wedding day comes around it is always nice to have relationship there, instead of "Hi, I'm Heather, and I will be taking your wedding pictures today." I feel bad to be posting these so late (I believe their invitations all ready went out) but I had to show everyone the session I had with N & S. Thank you so much both of you! I had so much fun getting to know you. N, I think S is a real keeper, good job making your claim on her!

Again I want to stress the importance of the November 20th deadline. All ready orders are coming, and schedules are getting crazier! Let me know so I can process orders on time for holiday presents!

They'll Melt Your Hearts, Not in Your Hands!

It looks like you really could eat these three! This picture is an extremely belated Father's Day gift. Happy Father's Day Dad! My Dad loves M&M's. We could always find a package (and probably still could) in his home. It is nice when I have to give him a little gift because I know I will always win with M&Ms. I figure this way the chocolaty sweetness is there without the calories! I am pretty sure if I combine this picture with a big bag of M&Ms, I will be the favorite forever! Thanks for all you do Dad. I sure love you.

Also, I know I will be saying this in several blogs throughout the coming season but I want everyone to be aware of all deadlines.

I will not be taking any orders after NOVEMBER 20th.

That is the weekend before Thanksgiving. Please remember to make your orders before this date so that you can get your Christmas Cards out for everyone to enjoy all season!
